Netflix marathons will be recognised as an Olympic sport going forward and will be part of the 2020 games in Tokyo, IOC president Thomas Bach has confirmed.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Bach claimed that by incorporating a Netflix marathon it will make the games more inclusive where everyone, no matter how fat, lazy or grotesque, can take part.

“Sports come in and out of vogue and Netflix is very current right now. The Olympics and Paralympics have always focused on the greatest athletes from around the world and being able to binge an entire series in one sitting is quite a talent.”

Whilst the final rules are still to be confirmed, it is known that shows such as Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black and Toddlers in Tiaras will be included in the repertoire.

Many Netflix fans have taken to social media to express their support for the move. Twitter user @StokeJames tweeted “I could beat the Chinese at this #BringItOn #Tokyo2020 #binge”.
