Comedy Legend Gene Wilder sadly died today at the age of 83 due to complications with Alzheimers disease.
Wilder is remembered most fondly for his film roles between the 1960’s and 1980’s.
Wilder had much success collaborating with writer and director Mel Brooks in staring in classics The Producers, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles, literally three of the funniest movies ever made. Wilder later went on to have an on screen partnership with another comedy legend no longer with us Richard Prior in Silver Streak, Stir Crazy, See No Evil Hear No Evil, and Another You.
Interest in Wilders funeral is great, and with so many fans around the world want to pay respects, tickets to the event are in short supply. One Chocolate manufacturer has come up with an ingenious and totally original idea of placing tickets inside their wrappers so that fans can buy the bars and win a chance to say good-bye to their hero.
As yet there is no news as to who has won the tickets, though unconfirmed reports include as big fat lad, a bratty girl, an American kid obsessed with TV and some goody-two-shoes boy who everyone is supposed to like but secretly hates.
Seriously though, rest in peace Gene, you will be greatly missed.
